What is solar cable?
As we know, the most popular equipment that convert sunlight energy to solar power nowadays is Photovoltaic system. There are many components in Photovoltaic system and the solar cable is one of the most important thing to get the green energy going.
Solar cable is a general name of the wire which is used for interconnection wiring in photovoltaic system components. It needs high quality requirements, such as UV resistance, waterproof resistance, moisture resistance, durable usage. There’re three main types of solar cable in Photovoltaic system: PV wire, USE-2 wire and THHN wire.
PV wire for solar panel is a popular solar power cable. Most of the PV wire features XLPO insulation and with BC or TC conductors. It’s an extremely durable cable, designed specifically to withstand the environmental conditions. It can be used both on grounded and ungrounded PV arrays. It has a maximum temperature of 90°C in wet and 150°C in dry conditions.
