What Is A Battery Cable?
In short, battery cable is a heavy cable( heavy means big sized) which is to connect automotive batteries to heavy power circuits such as starters and alternators.
Usually, we divide them in three types in common use: SGT, SGW, STX
(1) SGT: it’s with PVC insulation which is suitable for use in temperature -40°C to 105°C .
(2) SGW: it’s with XLPE insulation which is suitable for use in temperature -40°C to 125°C .
(3) STX: its insulation is the same as SGW, but the wire is relatively rigid with a similar number and size of wire strands to SGT wire.
The most flexible one among them is SGW, with higher number of smaller wire strands, but the application is similar to SGT.
