Teflon wire is a wire made of polytetrafluoroethylene(commonly known as fluoroplastic) insulation with metal conductor. Teflon’s super characteristic, such as: non-stick, heat resistance, sliding, moisture resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties. Compared to other high-temperature wires, Teflon wires are with excellent thermal stability and mechanical wear resistance, electrical insulation properties, resistance to strong acids and alkali, corrosion resistance, fire resistance and non-combustibility, high oxygen index, low smoke and halogen-free, no aging, and easy to strip. , High strength and friction resistance.
There is a certain difference between the temperature resistance of Teflon wire due to different outer material. There are roughly the following three types of Teflon:
1. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) non-stick coating can be used continuously at 260°C, with a maximum working temperature of 290-300°C, extremely low friction coefficient, good wear resistance and excellent chemical stability.
2. FEP: FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene copolymer) non-stick coating melts and flows during baking to form a non-porous film. It has excellent chemical stability, excellent non-stick properties, and the maximum use temperature is 200°C.
3. PFA: PFA (perfluoroalkylate) non-stick coating, like FEP, melts and flows to form a non-porous film when baked. The advantage of PFA is that it has a higher continuous use temperature of 260°C and stronger toughness. It is especially suitable for use in anti-stick and chemical resistance fields under high temperature conditions.

UL758 is the standard for electronic wires in UL, and Teflon wires follow the UL758 standard. UL758 stipulates various specifications such as AWG conductor size and wire diameter. The VDE standard adopts VDE0250. VDE0250 stipulates the conductor cross-sectional area, wire diameter and other specifications.
